Improve Your Mental Health By Exercise

Many people advice to do exercise to those who are struggling with mental health issues. Even psychologists also advise their patients to do so. 
As it is said by Carol Welch that,
Movement is a medicine for creating change in a person’s physical, emotional and mental states.

 But how it is related to mental health. lets discuss it here:



1. Happy Harmones:

We have many different types of harmones with different functions in our body. Out of them one is cortisol, which induces stress in us while others are endorphins which are called happy hormones. daily exercise reduce the level of cortisones while increase the level of endorphins. This is why we feel sudden happiness when we dance (of course it is also a type of exercise).

2. Improves Health:

Researches have shown that exercise reduce the chance of having heart diseases by strengthening our immune system. The sudden rise in body temperature during exercise prevent bacteria from growing. Thus proves very helpful in keeping us healthy.

3. Boost Confidence:

Doing exercise may motivate you to do bigger things. Completing difficult tasks in exercising gives you a power of acheivement and pushes you to challenge your self with more difficult tasks. Thus you start believing on yourself and do things that once you used to think that are impossible. 

4. Healthy Distraction:

Just sitting on your couch comfortably may sound relaxing but actually it is not when you have nothing to do. Sitting alone with empty mind just give rise to negative emotions. So in such situation, exercised may prove to be a healthy distraction from normal boring routine. It helps you to charge up your mind and body by keeping it busy.

Exercise keeps me occupied, which is good for my mental health.


5. Improves Sleep:

Yes, doing exercise helps you alot to sleep well. One reason is obvious that we get tired after doing exercise so me sleep well. But even if we get tired, exercise actually relaxes our muscles. That is why our body become fresh and so does our mind which helps in good sleep  

How To Do Exercise?

A major problem that people find in doing exercise is that they dont have excess to any gym. So they think that they cannot do exercise. This is not true!! You dont need any gym for doing exercise. You can do exercise in many different and easy ways which are enjoyable as well. Some of them are :

Bicycling:

 riding a bicycle is one of the best exercise which you can do daily. And if the weather is pleasant that would be a plus point, you can enjoy alot in this. This will not only work as physical exercise but also as a mental therapy.



Dancing: 

who donot love dancing? Whenever you feel mentally tired and dont know what to do, just go to your room, close the door, play your favourite fast music and start dancing. Dont worry about steps just do what comes in your mind. Let your body feel free. 




Playing outdoor sports: 

outdoor sports like football, badminton, cricket etc also work as a substitute for exercise. You can also enjoy alot in playing games and your body can work out at that moment.

Walk:

 if you find all these ways difficult, still you want something to do, to deviate your mind from all the negative things going in your mind. All you can do is go out for a walk. Observe the nature closely and let it relax your mind.
